today is career day at school.  yesterday i asked the boys what they wanted to be (a little last minute but that’s how we roll) so that i could get their “costumes” ready. jonah wants to play football for the titan’s.  (my understanding is that after sunday’s game he may actually have a chance!)  not a big deal though.  throw on a jersey and some cleats and we have a titan.  one down.

on to nate….

he wants to be a chef.  seriously?  we don’t have one of those play kitchens with the chef dress up stuff and i don’t know anyone who does.  what the heck are we gonna do?  …. so i posted on facebook that i needed help.  a friend of

mine actually went to culinary school and offered up some fabulous things including the “hat” (not sure if there is a more proper term for it) that he got when he graduated.   – thank you alex-

when i told nate that he was gonna wear a real chef hat he was soooooo excited.  he tried everything on last night so we could be really prepared for this morning.  looks great!

so this morning i’m thinking “things are gon

na go smooth we are ready and prepared nothing can go wrong”  and then nathan woke up….

nate: mom, i don’t want to be a chef.

me: why?

nate: i just don’t.

me: okay, well, we have baseball uniforms.  how about that?

nate: no

me: k.  what about your bratton bros. shirt?  you can work with dad.

nate: no

me: we are running out of costumes.

jonah: be something that just wears clothes.

me: yeah, like a writer.

nate: or an artist?

(i’m thinking we’ve got something here)

me: yeah, an artist would be great.

nate: no

long pause from both of us

nate: i won’t get to live with you.

me: (speechless) well, ummmm, well, you can live with me as long as you want, no matter what job you have.  ( as long as he has a job)

nate: really?

me: yes. really.

nate: then i want to be a chef!

the crazy kid cracks me up!!!!100_7045100_7046
